How recent Supreme Court rulings will affect HR

The U.S. Supreme Court this week ruled on two cases involving workplace discrimination, and on Wednesday struck down the Defense of Marriage Act. The first two rulings should be viewed as victories for employers, because they could help avoid discrimination claims, experts say. The third ruling will complicate employee benefits administration, particularly in states that don’t recognize same-sex marriage.
