Zigexn 2021: Profit down, decline bottoms out

Despite robust growth over the last two quarters, Japanese classifieds operator Zigexn Inc. (TSE: 3679) incurred Y1.9 billion ($17.9 million U.S.) in annual net losses. Earlier this year, Zigexn’s flagship job vertical’s topline suffered from the economic fallout of Covid-19.

Persol Career FY2020: Revenue down 29%

Japan-based Persol Career, Persol Holdings’ strategic business unit responsible for its job verticals, saw annual sales revenue fall 29% to Y59.6 billion ($544 million U.S.) in 2020. The company ascribed the decline to a slowdown in hiring due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Gakujo Co., a Japan-based recruitment company, saw annual revenue fall by 19% to Y5.7 billion ($54.8 million U.S.). The decline in line with previous guidance issued following the coronavirus-led economic slowdown.
