New York City-based Wade & Wendy, a player in the growing chatbot business, has announced they raised $7.6 million in a Series round of funding. The round is led by JAZZ Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Randstad Innovation Fund, ff Venture Capital and Indicator Ventures. With messaging apps like TextRecruit and Canvas getting acquired, it’s no surprise chatbots are now getting a lot of attention. Remember, Mya has raised over $30 million and AllyO has raised $19 million.
Randstad Innovation Fund was an early fan and continues to champion the company, and they’ll be utilizing Wendy across a range of Fortune 500 customers. Said global head of technology and analytics at Randstad Jason Roberts, “We’ve seen how Wendy automation of top of funnel tasks has increased the bandwidth of our recruitment teams during the pilot, and we’re excited to be rolling that value out across even more of our customers.”
CEO Drew Austin added, “This funding will give us the resources to continue to grow and expand partnerships with industry leaders like Randstad Sourceright … 2019 will be a significant year for Wade & Wendy.”
