Today we are sharing an update to our back-to-office approach for our North America (Canada, Mexico, and U.S.) employees: With significant and unpredictable increases in COVID-19 cases across the U.S., we are extending the current work from home guidance for our North America employees through Friday, January 1, 2021. This means that North America employees (outside of those deemed office critical) will not be asked to return to an office before Monday, January 4, 2021. Employees will continue to temporarily work remotely until this date, when we will evaluate the safety of beginning a phased reopening of offices. If circumstances change in the meantime and an office may be safely reopened, we will keep our employees and audiences updated.
Because the COVID-19 situation varies greatly by country, we will continue taking a local approach to reopening. Accordingly, our offices in APJ and EMEA will continue to follow our regional back to office approach, with local leadership teams making reopening decisions on a country-by-country basis in partnership with Workday global leadership, Global Workplace Safety, and People & Purpose teams, only reopening when it’s clearly safe to do so and for employees who wish to return.
