Hi kids, it’s The Shred for Jan. 10, 2019. Employee engagement can be tough. It can be the difference between attracting and retaining top talent, getting candidate referrals, and receiving positive reviews for your business. Chad & Cheese have partnered with Judge.com to help develop your employee engagement playbook. Download it now bitly.com/judgeinsights and thank us later. That’s bitly.com/judgeinsights. Now to the news: Ya’ know, I really thought 2019 might be a time for CareerBuilder to extinguish the dumpster fire that was 2018. I thought wrong, apparently. Multiple sources have told us three old-timey vets have left the company, according to an internal email from CEO Irina Novoselsky. Among those leaving are chief sales officer John Smith. You might remember him from last year’s infamous El Chapo conference call rant, and if you haven’t heard it, head to ChadCheese.com or our soundcloud page now and search for it. After him, Jason Lovelace, president of enterprise sales and interim corporate marketing, and Farhan Yasin, who was president of CareerBuilder International and oversaw global operations of the Broadbean subsidiary, are all leaving. Word is Yasin was really close to former CEO Jeff Ferguson. Collectively, the three combined for 52 years at the company. Not announced but also appear to be gone are Steve Erwin and Jennifer Grasz, long time communications folks. Erwin is working on a mayoral race and we’re not sure where Grasz ended up. CareerBuilder now has a PR firm running communications. When I reached out for comment, they said, ““It’s company policy that we don’t comment on employees outside of executive promotions and new hires.” Well, alrighty then. Novoselsky remains optimistic, however, closing her email with, “I believe that in 2019 — with your ongoing commitment, hard work and dedication — CareerBuilder will continue our pursuit to be an industry innovator and market leader.” And won’t that ongoing pursuit be fun to watch. CareerBuilder, the gift that keeps on giving.
